Muscat: Oman is often regarded as one of the safest countries in the Middle East, if not the whole globe. Students in Oman have a very good standard of living. The neighbourhood has a low crime rate and pleasant residents.

Oman was also one of the top ranked Middle Eastern countries according to the Intentions’ latest Environment and Sustainability Ranking 2020, where it was ranked 21st globally. This high score is due in part to the government’s focus on developing environmental regulations.

The Ministry of Education issued a statement regarding the operation of public and private schools in the academic year 2022-21 and issued the following points:

  1. Approval of the operation of grades (1-4) in the blended education system (week by week), with the exception of low-density schools with no more than 20 students per class and managed by the direct education system 100 per cent while adhering to the precautionary health measures.
  2. Approval of the operation of schools for grades (5-11) with the direct education system, with the exception of classrooms of schools with more than 30 students per semester, which are run by the blended education system (week after week), while adhering to the precautionary health measures.
  3. The twelfth grade operates in a 100% direct education system, with adherence to precautionary health measures.
  4. The hours of early education students and private schools are in accordance with the guide (mechanisms for operating private and international schools in the Sultanate of Oman for the academic year 2022/2021) approved by the Ministerial Resolution regarding the adoption of the rules and principles of the general framework.

The Ministry of Education is mandated to issue a statement about determinants of education through the second semester of School Year 2021-2022. The statement brought lot of ease in the many challenges faced by students,

Students in Oman have more spiritual and economic freedom than students in other Arab nations, which adds to the allure of studying here. Furthermore, majority of degree programs are taught in English, making comprehension easier for many international students.

Overall, education in Oman is based on a 6-3-3 system, which translates to six years of primary education, three years of preparatory education, and three years of secondary education. Primary education begins at age six and continues for six years.

The universities are new while Muscat University has partnered with Aston University, which is one of the oldest and greatest universities in the United Kingdom (UK). This university provides high class and good quality in programs and in the course.

The schools on the other hand are Nationality-based Schools. Majority of the schools in Oman are Indian Schools- starting from Indian School Wadi Kabir to Indian School Muscat! The region of the school decides the name of the school though the schools usually follow the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Board.
