New Delhi:  The Trincomalee Power Company Limited (TPCL), a joint venture between NTPC Ltd, India, and the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), will develop a 100 MW solar power plant in Sampur, Sri Lanka.

On Thursday, the Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Gopal Baglay, attended the signing ceremony of the Joint Venture Share Holder Agreement (JVSHA) at the Sri Lankan Ministry of Finance.

Baglay said India’s co-operation with Sri Lanka in this domain will strengthen with implementing India’s US$100 million lines of credit offered to Sri Lanka for the development of solar power projects.
