Private offices closed in Delhi: Employees advised to work from Home

New Delhi: All private offices in the national capital have advised their employees to work from home as covid-19 cases rising in the city. According to the new guidelines of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) released on Tuesday – All private offices in Delhi will remain closed, except those which are falling under the exempted category.

The city logged more than 19,000 new cases of coronavirus and 17 more deaths due to the infection yesterday. The decision comes amid an alarming surge in cases of coronavirus and its Omicron variant in the city.

Till now, private offices in the city were allowed to function with 50 percent staff attendance.

Amid the rising covid-19 cases in the capital of the nation, The Delhi government on Monday suspended dine-in facilities at restaurants in the city and shut down bars, and allowed only takeaway and home delivery of food items.

In the first 10 days of this month, Delhi has recorded 70 COVID-related deaths, higher than the combined fatalities reported in the city in the last five months.

According to the official data – 70 COVID patients have died in the capital in the first 10 days of January, 54 fatalities were recorded in the last five months – nine in December, seven in November, four in October, five in September, and 29 in August.
