President Murmu on a two-day trip in West Bengal

New Delhi, March 27: The President of India, Dropadi Murmu, arrived in Kolkata on Monday for a two-day trip to West Bengal.

For the welcome of the President Murmu, the Bengal State governor CV Anand Bose and the State municipal Affairs and urban development minister, Firhad Hakim, the State minister in charge of fire fighting, Sujit Bosu, the chief secretary Harikrishna Dwivedi, and DG of stats police Manoj Malavia were all present to receive her.

For President Dropadi Murmu’s safety, there were ceremonial guards from the three Indian defence forces and a state police force deployed at the airport.

As per the press release from the press information bureau, the president is on an official visit for two days, which are March 27 and 28.

On March 27, she visited different places. First she visited the Netaji Bhavan in Kolkata and paid homage to the netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, and then, after she visited Jarasanko Thakurbari, the Rabidranath Tagore house, and paid tribute to the gurudev Rabindranath Tagore.

In the evening of the same day, President Murmu attended a civic reception that was hosted in her honour at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata, where West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Benarji was present for the event and also played the tribal drum.

After that, on the next day on March 28, President Murmu will visit Belur meth and will be attending a celebration of UCO bank in Kolkata on the occasion of completing its 80 years. Later, at the end of the visit, she will join and grace her presence at the convocation function of Visva Bharati
