‘Over 1 lakh youths want to join the RSS online every year’, says Dr. Vaidya
Ahmedabad: About 1 to 1.25 lakh young people, aged 20-35 years, want to join the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh every year through its website, Dr. Manmohan Vaidya, Sah Sarkaryavah (Joint General Secretary), said here on Friday.
Addressing a press conference ahead of the three-day annual meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS), the top decision-making body of the RSS, he said many other youths directly join the organization’s branches across India.
The ABPS conference, in which senior leaders of various affiliate organizations of the RSS will discuss their achievements in the last couple of years, and their vision ahead, is being held here from March 11 to 13.
Giving details of the activities of the RSS and its affiliates, Dr. Vaidya said their volunteers risked their own lives, braved the pandemic since its outbreak in early 2020, and helped the affected people in various ways across India.
Over 5.5 lakh RSS volunteers had served the people from the very first day of Covid-19, he added.
About the RSS’ plans for 2022, he said it will organize camps for volunteers at 104 places between April and July. In each of these, about 300 volunteers will take part.
