Major Drug Haul in Delhi, Four Arrested
NEW DELHI, Oct 2: In a massive breakthrough, the Delhi Police on Wednesday busted an international drug syndicate and seized a big consignment of cocaine estimated to be worth over Rs 2,000 crores. The operation was conducted by a special cell of the Delhi Police.
Official sources said the seizure cocaine weighing more than 565 kilogrammes was biggest ever drug bust in the history of the national capital.
The police also nabbed four people from South Delhi’s Mehrauli and confiscated the consignment. The officials said those arrested had planned to sell the cocaine in Delhi and the National Capital Region.
They said the Special Cell team had been working for over two months based on a tip-off which led to the bust just before the festive season. The arrested were being interrogated and a narco-terror angle in the case was being investigated, the officials said.
