Kannada Actress Bhargavi Narayan Passes Away
New Delhi: Veteran Kannada actor Bhargavi Narayan passed away late Monday evening. According to family members, Bhargavi Narayan suffered age-related problems and breathed last on Monday, February 15, 2022. Narayan’s granddaughter Samyukta Hornad confirmed the news on Instagram.
“My grandma, Bhargavi Narayan, Ajji Bhajji to all, passed away at around 7.30 pm this evening, February 14, 2022. The body will be kept at our family home – Greenroom, 276/C, 37th A Cross, 8th Block Jayanagar, till 11:00 am tomorrow, February 15, 2022,” she wrote.
The family members will donate her body to St. John’s Hospital as per her last wish. The Sahitya Academy awardee had acted in more than 600 plays. Narayan even worked in several television serials and numerous critically-acclaimed films.
Her famous films include Eradu Kanasu, Hanthakana Sanchu, Pallavi Anupallavi, Vamshavriksha, Professor Hucchuraya, and Baa Nalle Madhuchandrake, among others.
Several fans and people belonging to the Kannada film industry expressed their condolences and paid tribute to the late actor on social media.
Bhargavi Narayan was born on February 04, 1938, in Bengaluru. The senior actress was married to Belavadi Nanjundaiah Narayanan and is survived by her children, Sudha Belawadi and Prakash Belawadi.
Her son, Prakash Belawadi, is a famous theatre artist who featured in numerous television shows and Bollywood films. Belawadi also directed the film Stumble (2003).
He is popularly known for his roles in Talvar (2015), Soorarai Pottru (2020), Sanju (2018), Madras Cafe (2013), Saaho (2019), The Tashkent Files (2019), The Accidental Prime Minister (2019), Airlift (2016), and Meri Pyaari Bindu (2017) among others.
