Kamal Hassan and S.Shankar to resume production of Indian 2 in August
New Delhi: Kamal Hassan and S.Shankar plan to resume production of their most ambitious project, Indian 2, in August 2022. The sequel to their first collaboration titled Indian was delayed indefinitely due to various reasons.
There were also numerous rumours of the project being shelved. However, as per the latest developments from confirmed sources, Kamal Hassan and Shankar are planning to resume the shooting of Indian 2. Hassan confirmed the project is not shelved in a recent promotional interview.
The pending portions of the film are expected to be shot in a long schedule of over 100 days. Though Kajal Agarwal was roped in for the female lead, the actress quit due to her pregnancy. The makers might finalise Trisha Krishnan or Tamannaah Bhatia for the role.
On the other hand, the late actor Vivekh might also get replaced and his scenes might be re-shot with a replaced actor.
Directed by Shankar, composed and original score by Anirudh Ravichander, and produced by Lyca Productions, the film features an extensive star cast including Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Delhi Ganesh, Aishwarya Rajesh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and others in the pivotal roles.
The makers are expected to make an official audition announcement to the star caste and technical crew before resuming the project.
