Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir have been seeing a series of encounters between terrorists and security forces and targeted civilian killings over the past few months. In the latest attack on Friday, a non-local laborer from Bihar – was killed by militants in the Bandipora district.

The deceased laborer was identified as Mohd Amrez, son of Mohd Jalil and a resident of Bihar’s Madhepura. Soon after being shot, he was shifted to the hospital for treatment where he died.

The Kashmir Zone Police updated about the incident on Twitter,

The deceased migrant’s brother said “Around 12.20 am my brother woke me up and said that a firing has started. He (deceased) wasn’t around, we thought he went to the toilet. We went to check, saw him lying in a pool of blood, and contacted security personnel, he was brought to Hajin and later referred but he died.”

Meanwhile, rifleman Nishant Malik who was injured in the terror attack in an Army camp in Rajouri died on Friday taking the death toll to four, according to officials. The pre-dawn suicide strike in the Army camp on Thursday left four soldiers dead while two attackers were gunned down in the shootout.

The terrorists, who are believed to be from the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed(JeM), were heavily armed with deadly ‘steel core’ bullets and were shot down after an over four-hour gun battle which started at 2 AM and ended just before 6.30 AM, the police said.
