India’s fight against COVID-19 receives a strong impetus as vaccination numbers cross the 50 crore mark: PM

New Delhi: In a major achievement, India’s Cumulative COVID Vaccination Coverage has crossed the 50 crore mark. The cumulative figure stands at 50 crores 3 lakh 48 thousand and 866.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that “as vaccination number has crossed 50 crore mark, India hopes to build on these numbers and ensure our citizens are vaccinated under vaccine for all- free for all movement.”

PM Modi tweeted that “India’s fight against COVID-19 receives a strong impetus. Vaccination numbers cross the 50 crore mark. We hope to build on these numbers and ensure our citizens are vaccinated under #SabkoVaccineMuftVaccine movement.”

The Health Ministry of India said that “the new phase of universalization of COVID-19 vaccination commenced from 21st June and more than 43.29 lakh Vaccine Doses have been administered yesterday. More than 22 lakh 93 thousand vaccine doses were administered as first dose and 4 lakh 32 thousand vaccine doses given as the second dose in the age group of 18 to 44 years yesterday.”

Five states namely Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh have administered more than one crore cumulative doses of COVID-19 Vaccine in the age group of 18 to 44 years.
