New Delhi: The Hyderabad Football Club (HFC) defeated NorthEast United 5-0 in the Indian Super League (ISL) at the Nehru Stadium, Goa, on Monday, January 31, 2022.
The match began with HFC’s Bartholomew Ogbeche striking a right-footed shot from a close range in the 2nd minute. The ball went from the corner to the high centre of the post. HFC was leading the match with 1-0. NorthEast’s Marcelinho Pereira assisted Marco Sahanek, whose left-foot attempt was stopped in the 10th minute.
HFC’s Aniket Jadhav assisted Sauvik Chakrabarti as he tried to shoot a right foot from outside the box. However, the ball went wide in the 28th minute. HFC tried again when Joao Victor helped Sauvik strike a right foot in the 37th minute, but the attempt was blocked. Marcelinho tried to score, but his shot went offside in the 43rd minute.
The second half began with HFC player Akash Mishra shooting from proximity to the goalpost in the 47th minute. He attempted a header that hit the net, and HFC gained another point. Meanwhile, though NorthEast’s Mohammed Irshad tried to score, Marcelinho’s ball went offside in the 57th minute.
HFC’s Joel Chianese gave a headed pass to Ogbeche, who attempted a left-foot shot from a very close range. The ball struck the high centre of the post in the 59th minute, and HFC was leading with 3 points. NorthEast’s Gani Ahmed Nigam passed to Irshad in the 62nd minute. HFC keeper Laxmikant Kattimani successfully saved Irshad’s right-foot shot.
NorthEast’s Subhasish Roy Chowdhury gave a pass to Suhair Vadakkepeedika, who made a strategic right-angled shot in the centre of the goal. Kattimani saved the shot in the 75th minute. HFC’s Sahil Tavora assisted Nikhil Poojary in shooting a right foot from outside the box. The ball touched the bottom left corner of the net, and HFC earned another point in the 83rd minute.
HFC’s Edu García received a pass from Javi Siverio and shot a left foot from the centre of the box to the centre of the goal in the 87th minute. HFC won the match against a goalless NorthEast United 5-0.
