Indian music composer Ricky Kej wins a Grammy for album “Divine Tide”

New Delhi, February 6: Ricky Kej, an Indian music composer, has won a Grammy for his collaborative album “Divine Tide” with Stewart Copeland in the category of best immersive audio album.

The 65th annual Grammy Awards 2023 were held on Sunday in Los Angeles, USA. Where Ricky had won the award against all the nominees Christina Aguilera (Aguilera), the chainsmokers (memories..do not open), jane irabloom and nidarosdomens jentekor & trondehaimsolistene. To make this album, Ricky had collaborated with the British rock band The Police’s member and founder, Stewart Copeland. This is their second Grammy, which both of them received together for the same album.

The album “Divine Tides” is a tribute to nature and its beauty. It features artists from all across the world. It was a nine-track album. Out of them, eight music videos were shot in locations all over the world.

This is the third Grammy trophy for Indian music composer Ricky Kej. Before that, the musician had won a Grammy in 2022 in the category of best new age album for the same album. And in 2015, he received an award for his album “Winds of Samsara.”

The music composer wrote on Twitter, expressing his joy and gratitude: “Just won my 3rd Grammy award.

Extremely grateful, I am speechless”. He even wrote to Twitter, saying that he dedicated this award to India.

It is commendable that Ricky Kej is the fourth Indian and the youngest person from India who has won the Grammy award.

Ricky was brought up in Bengaluru, where he got his education. By profession, he was a dentist, but his love for music made him pursue a career in music.
