India will continue to supply COVID-19 vaccines to partner countries in a phased manner: Sources
New Delhi: The government of India will continue to supply coronavirus vaccines to its partner countries over the coming weeks and months in a phased manner. India has not imposed any ban on exports of vaccines unlike many other countries, the official sources said.
According to the media report – the New Delhi government has already supplied more than 60 million doses of ‘Made in India’ vaccines to more than 70 countries so far. The vaccination drive in India was commenced on January 16 this year and around 5.5 crore people in India vaccinated so far.
India remains committed to help the world with vaccines, including through COVAX facilities. Given the current manufacturing capacity and requirements of national vaccination programs, there may be a need to calibrate the supply schedules from time to time.
The medical experts in India say that According to the data of the health ministry – India’s vaccination program is the fastest in the world. The way India’s vaccination program is going – around 10 crore people will be vaccinated in the upcoming few weeks.
Amid rising coronavirus cases in several states of the country – the central government has boosted its vaccination program in the nation.
