India reports 16,862 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours
New Delhi: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Friday confirmed that as many as 16,862 new Covid cases and 379 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. The Health Ministry confirmed that there are 2.03 lakh active cases in the country, and 19,391 recoveries were reported yesterday, taking the total recoveries to 3.33 crore.
It should be noted that Kerala remains the worst-affected state in the country as it is reporting more than half of the country’s total Covid cases on regular basis.
As the festive season approaches, the number of daily Covid-19 cases and deaths has started to increase again in India.
With the addition of new cases and deaths, the total number of cases has increased to 3.40 crore while the death toll stands at 4.51 lakh.
Meanwhile, more than 30.26 lakh vaccines were administered against Covid-19 yesterday. The total vaccination count in India now stands over 97.14 crores.
