India completes Koshi Corridor power transmission line in Nepal

New Delhi: India on Wednesday handed over a finished 220 KV double circuit 106-km-long Koshi Corridor power transmission line to the Nepal Electricity Authority.

The USD 86.8 million packages two projects were funded under the USD 550 million line of credit from India to Nepal. This project cost USD 37.3 million.

When finished, the third and fourth packages would provide seamless power evacuation from generation projects in the Arun and Tamor river basins, with a combined power output of nearly 2000 MW.

Besides the Koshi Corridor, India is funding the development of two more 132 kV domestic electricity transmission lines in Nepal, namely the Lekhnath and the Solu lines.
