IMD predicts fairly widespread rain in East, Central, and Western India
New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted fairly widespread rainfall in Eastern, Central, and Western India on Thursday, August 18, 2022.
The IMD shared a spatial rainfall distribution map on Twitter, showcasing the regions receiving rainfall.
Talking about rainfall in Eastern and Central parts of India, the IMD informed, “Fairly widespread/widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Odisha during August 18-20; Gangetic West Bengal on August 18 and 19; Jharkhand on August 19 and 20; Vidarbha on August 20 and 21; Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh during August 19-21; and over West Madhya Pradesh during August 20 to August 22, 2022.”
The department also informed regarding widespread rainfall accompanied by isolated heavy rainfall and thunderstorm with lightning in the Indian states of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Goa, and Maharashtra between August 18 and August 22, 2022.
“Fairly widespread/widespread light/moderate rain with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning very likely over West Rajasthan and Gujarat State on August 18 and August 22; East Rajasthan, Konkan, and Goa during August 20 to August 22; and over ghat areas of Central Maharashtra on August 21 and August 22, 2022.”
