New Delhi: The South African cricket team ousted West Indies and qualified for the semifinals of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 after rains disrupted the game on Thursday, March 24, 2022.

The South Africa and West Indies team could only complete 10.5 overs at the Basin Reserve in Wellington, New Zealand before rains played spoilsport. Chinelle Henry and Deandra Dottin of the West Indies ousted South African opener Laura Wolvaardt and Lizelle Lee. West Indies was in the lead when experienced duo Mignon du Preez and Marizanne Kapp steadied South Africa’s innings.

However, the incessant rains intervened and ruined the chances of completing the match. Both teams received a point each, and South Africa was leading with 9 points as West Indies made 7 points.

South Africa stands second on the leaderboard after an unbeatable Australian team with 12 points. On the other hand, West Indies had overtaken India to ascend to rank three. India has received 6 points so far. West Indies will secure a seat in the semis if team India or England lose a match.
