Hollywood: Black Panther 2 Begins Production
1, July-2021, Ahmedabad: – The production of the much-awaited sequel to the 2018 film, Black Panther has officially begun.
President of Marvel Studios, Kevin Fiege revealed that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever started filming on Tuesday at Pinewood Studios, Atlanta.
Feige said that “the original cast is intact except for late actor Chadwick Boseman, who passed away in August 2020 after a four-year battle with colon cancer. Chadwick was the central character in the Marvel movie.”
“It’s very emotional without Chad but everyone is also very excited to bring the world of Wakanda back to the public and back to the fans. We’re going to do it in a way that would make Chad proud,” Feige told media.
Plot details and the number of actors returning have been kept under wraps.
However, actors Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o, Florence Kasumba, and Angela Bassett are likely to reprise their roles from the original film.
Directed by Ryan Coogler, Black Panther 2 is slated to release on July 8, 2022, and is one of the 26 upcoming Marvel films to be released in Theatres and streamed on Disney+.
The first instalment of the Black Panther series was an instant hit on its release in February 2018, and was the highest-grossing non-Avengers film with USD 1.34 bn worldwide. The film also won Oscars in score, production and costume design categories.
