New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday extended congratulations to Prof. Gobardhan Das, lauding his inspiring journey marked by perseverance, humility, and dedication.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister praised Das for his significant contributions to public health, science, and innovation, noting that his work has brought pride to the nation.

In a deeply personal statement, Prof. Das described his appointment as a member of NITI Aayog as one of the most important moments of his life.
He expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for the opportunity and reflected on his humble beginnings as the son of a farmer from a Dalit family in a remote village in West Bengal.
“Today is a very important day in my life. I sincerely thank the dynamic Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for giving me the opportunity to serve as a member of Niti Aayog,” he said.
He emphasised that values such as hard work, resilience, and determination have shaped his journey, adding that his new role is a representation of the aspirations of ordinary citizens across the country.
