New Delhi: The government has said that the e-Samyukti platform has facilitated procurement from over 43 lakh farmers, with around 38 lakh metric tonnes of produce procured and more than 13 thousand crore rupees transferred to farmers.
The e-Samyukti platform is a digital initiative of the National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India, aimed at streamlining agricultural procurement and empowering farmers and cooperatives. Built on transparency and accountability, the platform ensures quick, secure digital payments to farmers. The Minimum Support Price (MSP) remains a key policy instrument for supporting farmers, through which the government procures crops. The government announces MSPs annually for 22 mandated agricultural crops.
On 30th September this year, the government approved an increase in the Minimum Support Prices (MSPs) for all mandated Rabi crops for the 2027-28 marketing season. The procurement is expected to cover 324 lakh metric tonnes of produce, with an estimated 90 thousand 962 crore rupees to be paid to farmers. The sustained growth in procurement volumes and MSP payments reflects the expanding scale of government support to farmers.
