Flash Flood in Himachal Pradesh: Centre rushes three NDRF teams to help

Shimla: The Central Government rushed the three teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to Himachal Pradesh as heavy rains continued to wreak havoc across.

According to the local media report, at least two people have been reported dead, 10 are missing, and more than 100, including students, have been rescued from the Triund trekking route.

More than 60 roads, Including the Chandigarh-Manali Highway in Himachal Pradesh, have been blocked due to floods and Landslides.

PM Narendra Modi and the Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that “The flood situation in Himachal Pradesh is being monitored and all support is being offered to flood-affected areas of Himachal Pradesh.”

Flash Flood in Himachal Pradesh has damaged several houses in Chaitru village, Dharamshala, and several others are also reported trapped in the debris.

Sushil Dadwal, Executive Engineer, PWD said that “The river has changed its course and moved towards the road. Some points on the road have been damaged. Restoration work is underway.”

State Disaster Management Authority and Revenue Department, Himachal Pradesh confirmed that “A total of 11 houses and many vehicles damaged. Electricity supply hampered at various locations. Nearly 60 roads closed in different parts of Himachal Pradesh after heavy rain and flash flood hit the state. Rescue operation underway.”
