New Delhi: The local people from Sri Lanka may choose illegal ways also enter India as their own country has facing financial crises. A few days back, On March 22 Tuesday, a family of six Sri Lankan Tamils, including four children were found by the Indian Coast Guard near Fourth Island, Rameswaram, and were handed over to the Coastal Security Group.

On Wednesday, another ten people, including five children, reached Indian shores. Sivasankari, one of the refugees, stated she decided to leave as there was no way to survive in Sri Lanka. But, when crossing the sea, the engine failed, the anchor was lost and the refugees were stuck at sea, battling the hot sun. After a huge struggle, they managed to cross the sea and arrive in the middle of the night.

The Indian officials have predicted that around 2 to 4 thousand people from Sri Lanka have already entered India.

However, Illegal migration from Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh may create unemployment for Indian people.

The Financial situation of Sri Lanka has worsened unexpectedly in the last few months. India is also trying to help the Island country by providing billions of dollars but still, local people plan to migrate to other countries. Price of essential products – including vegetables and petrol doubled in the last few days.
