Mumbai: The Bollywood film, Looop Lapeta is a remake of the German film, Run Lola Run, but the combination of crime and mythology in a plot differentiates the film from its German counterpart.

The background of the Norse Mythological tale revolving around Satyavan and Savitri is one of the key differentiators witnessed in the history of adaptations.

The story begins with Satya and Savi finding themselves in a pickle after the former misplaced his boss’s bag containing 50lakh rupees. He summons Savi to assist him in finding a solution lest the two perish.

Savi’s attempts to save her boyfriend eventually land her in a strange time loop . She keeps revisiting the scene multiple times and devises a perfect plan.

Yash Sharma’s cinematography and camera work portrays his efficiency so much so that the viewers may forget that they are watching the same storyline several times amidst slight twists.

The editing follows the footsteps of Priyank Prem Kumar’s quick chopping and squishing method, thereby pushing the boundaries to one-tier.

The film is full of mini gems for people who take interest in the nuances like the opening scene, that begins with a zoomed-in camera focusing on mirror reflection of a conversation between two actors and gradually zooms out.

Loop Lapeta is classic cult thriller movie with Taapsee Pannu, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Shreya Dhanwantary, and other actors.

The film marks another stepping stone for Taapsee, who is in the race to become one of the most natural talents produced by the Bollywood industry.

Taher Raj Bhasin tends to remarkably overlook the character of Satya without becoming a mere pale imitation.

The film provides every extra character with an important purpose to amend the chronology of the plot.

Looop Lapeta is much more than just another international film adaptation. It achieves a technical high-point and is supported by an extremely strong plot and memorable performances.

Directed by Aakash Bhatia and produced by Sony Pictures Films India and Ellipsis Entertainment, Looop Lapeta is an aesthetically compelling, soul-satisfying experience for film nerds, and a well-crafted captivating thriller in general.

The film is available in four languages, namely Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu. It released on Netflix India on February 04, 2022
