New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE), and Indian School Certificate (ISC) examinations are just round the corner.

The ICSE (class 10) and CBSE students will appear for their Board examinations from April 26, 2022, whereas ISC (class 12) students will appear for Boards from April 25, 2022 onwards.

Students have been diligently preparing for the examinations. But extensive syllabus and a few days to prepare often lead to anxiety and stress. Here are ten effective tips to aid students in preparing for the Boards 2022.

  1. Make a Timetable

It is impossible to prepare without proper planning. Therefore, it is necessary to make an extensive study time-table and make it a habit to follow it. Setting up a time-table will help reach subject goals on time.

  1. Allot sufficient time to study

Students should plan their day in a manner that majority hours are dedicated to revising the subjects-at-hand.

  1. Select the right time to prepare

Every individual needs certain hours to prepare and revise for the Boards and therefore students should select the right time to study. While some people begin studying from early morning onwards, others pull all-nighters. Selecting the right time to study will help cover the syllabus on time.

  1. Adopt good study habits

Make sure to adopt and follow the right study practices. Create a plan, take one topic per subject, and try to complete the targeted topics per day. Students should take short ten minute breaks after completing every topic to freshen their minds. Spare time for fun activities too.

  1. Make strategies for learning long answers

Students are perplexed by long answers because of difficulty in retaining the answers. Thus, students are advised to break the answer in paragraph, write the answer on paper, and try relating it to real-life situations to remember the answer.

  1. Practice Previous Year’s Papers

With barely a few days to go before the Board examinations commence, students are advised to revise practice previous year question papers after completion of the entire syllabus/subject. Practice papers help ascertain where the learner stands and where is his/her preparation lacking.

  1. Solve Practice Papers

Solving practice papers provided by Boards gives an idea of paper-style and marking scheme. It will help students complete writing answers within the given time frame and are a good method of preparation.

  1. Take breaks at regular intervals

It is necessary to take short breaks after completion of a topic or changing subjects. Breaks help refresh the mind and increases retention capacity of a student. Learning becomes interesting and easier when the mind is rested through short breaks as the brain becomes alert and focused.

  1. Stop stressing over Boards

Certain students have a tendency to stress before the Boards have even begun. Not only does this hamper studies, but also leads to health problems such as breathlessness, anxiety, and fever. The examinations are conducted to test learning abilities of students, who should focus on completing their syllabus instead of worrying about the exams.

Board examinations are an important stage in a student’s life as it determines the career and future prospects of an individual. The examinations are  a stepping stone towards a better future and should be taken seriously. However, students can follow the tips provided to prepare well and score optimum marks.
