Dhankhar Admitted in AIIMS with Chest Pain, Condition Stable
NEW DELHI, Mar 9: The Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar was admitted in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi in the wee hours of Sunday with complaints of uneasiness and chest pain.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the hospital on Sunday morning to enquire about his health and also prayed for the Vice President’s speedy recovery. “Went to AIIMS and enquired about the health of Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar Ji. I pray for his good health and speedy recovery,” Mr Modi said in an online post.
President Droupadi Murmu called Mr Dhankhar’s wife Dr Sudesh Dhankhar and inquired about his health. The president was glad to know that he was recovering fast and wished him well. The Union Health Minister JP Nadda too had visited AIIMS earlier in the day to enquire about Mr Dhankhar’s condition.
The 73-year old Mr Dhankhar was taken to AIIMS around 2 am. He was admitted to the Critical Care Unit (CCU) under Dr Rajiv Narang, Head of Department of Cardiology. His condition was reported to be stable in the afternoon and is under observation of a group of doctors. But it is unlikely that he will preside over the Rajya Sabha on Monday.
