New Delhi: India has issued Notices To Airmen (NOTAM) for the launch of an experimental flight vehicle in the Bay of Bengal for the period between December 15 and 16, 2022, according to reports on Saturday.

The designated area for the NOTAM is 5,400 km in length, which shows it might be a test of the Agni-5 ballistic missile. There is also speculation that it might be the test of the new K5 SLBM, which has a range of 5,500 km.

India often carried out the Agni-5 test with reduced range, but the 5,400 km range can hit the entire Chinese mainland from even the southernmost tip of India. This might be among the reasons it is being tested for the first time in its full range.
