Cricket: IPL 2022 Auctions to go on floors from February 12

New Delhi: The Indian Premier League (IPL) season 2022 auction is scheduled to take place in Bengaluru on February 12 and February 13, 2022. The purchases are expected to reach 7.5 crores while certain players are expected to hit close to 20 crores this year.

The mega auctions will witness a total of 590 players going under the hammer.  There are 228 capped players, 355 uncapped players, and 7 players from associate nations.

10 players are kept in the marquee category with a base price of Rs. 2 crore. The list includes Indian marquee players Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Shami and Ravichandran Ashwin, and foreign marquee players Faf Du Plessis, David Warner, Pat Cummins, Quinton de Kock, Kagiso Rabada and Trent Boult.

Players under the Rs. 2 crore bracket include Dev D Padikkal, Shimron Hetmyer, David Miller, Suresh Raina, Jason Roy, Steve Smith, Robin Uthappa, Shakib Al Hasan, Mitchell Marsh, Krunal Pandya, Harshal Patel, Ishan Kishan, Sam Billings, Dinesh Karthik, Ambati Rayudu, Matthew Wade, Deepak Chahar, Lockie Ferguson, Josh Hazlewood, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mustafizur Rahman, Shardul Thakur, Mark Wood, Umesh Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Adil Rashid, Imran Tahir, Adam Zampa, Mujeeb Zadran, Chris Jordan, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Evin Lewis, Jofra Archer, James Vince, Marchant de Lange, Saqib Mahmood, Ashton Agar, David Willey, and Craig Overton.

The popular OTT platform, Disney plus Hotstar, will live-stream the IPL 2022 Mega auctions at 11 am on Saturday, February 12 and Sunday, February 13, 2022. Cricket fans can also watch the live mega auction on Star Sports Network.
