Covid-19: Central government to increase vaccination speed in July-August
New Delhi: The Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said that “The Central government will increase the speed of vaccination against Covid-19 in July and August.”
“With Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to provide a free vaccine against COVID-19 to people aged 18 and above, we will fast achieve the goal of inoculating almost everyone”, Home Minister told media during visiting vaccination center.
In a country having such a huge population, providing free vaccination is a big decision. On International Yoga Day on Monday, the drive of free vaccine for all is being launched across the country, Shah said, adding that India was already on top in the vaccination program.
Shah is on a two-day visit to Ahmedabad from Monday.
According to the data of the Health Ministry, around 30L people receive vaccines daily and the government plans to vaccinate all the citizens by the end of December this year.
The government of India reports 29.9 million cases so far, and more than 28.8 million people defeated coronavirus after got infected. The second wave of coronavirus in India affected many sectors and after the ease of restriction – slowly and gradually business and trade are coming back on track again.
