Air India Flight AI171 Involved in Post-Takeoff Accident; 242 Onboard, Injured Sent to Hospitals

Air India confirmed that flight AI171 from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick was involved in an accident shortly after takeoff at 13:38 hrs today. The Boeing 787-8 aircraft was carrying 242 people, including 169 Indian nationals, 53 British nationals, 7 Portuguese nationals, 1 Canadian national, and 12 crew members.

Several passengers sustained injuries and are being transported to the nearest hospitals for treatment.
