MUMBAI, Nov 14: While most of the Congress leaders preferred to ignore the former United States president Barrack Obama’s adverse comments on Rahul Gandhi, except some leaders claiming that the former Congress president had “changed” since he met Obama last time, the Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Saturday decried a foreign leader making such rash comments about Indian leaders.

“How much does Obama Know,” Raut denounced remarks on Rahul Gandhi where the former US president referred to him as a “student eager to impress the teacher,” in his upcoming memoir, “A Promised Land.”

Raut also strongly criticized the Indian leaders who took liking for Obama’s rash comments and claimed his remarks about Rahul was “accurate.” Raut said such “political discourses” by Indian leaders were “distasteful”

“A foreign politician can’t give such opinions on Indian political leaders; subsequent domestic political discourse on it is distasteful. We won’t say ‘Trump is mad’. How much does Obama know about this nation?” Raut asked.

Publishers of Obama’s memoir said it provided insights into the dynamics of US partisan politics and international diplomacy. The New York Times has reviewed Obama’s memoir, highlighting the political leaders from around the world he has talked about.
