HM Amit Shah Launches Yamuna Rejuvenation Projects Worth Over ₹8,941 Crore in Delhi

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah today inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for projects worth over eight thousand 941 crore rupees related to the rejuvenation of the Yamuna River. The expansion of sewer networks and improvements to the drainage system mark significant steps towards cleaning the Yamuna River.
Speaking on the occasion, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the BJP government is committed to cleaning and rejuvenating the Yamuna by May 2029. He said the Centre and the governments of Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh had prepared coordinated, time-bound action plans to tackle pollution in the river.
Mr. Shah accused the previous Aam Aadmi Party government of making excuses instead of addressing the issue. He reiterated that cleaning and rejuvenating the Yamuna remained a firm commitment of the BJP government. The Minister said the projects inaugurated and launched today will strengthen wastewater treatment, improve drinking water facilities and expand sewer connectivity across Delhi.
