Punjab [India]: Lakhs of Punjab Government employees have gone on two-day mass casual leave till tomorrow to protest against the state government’s failure to address their long-pending demands. They are protesting outside Deputy Commissioner’s offices across the state. Punjab PUNBUS PRTC Contract Workers Union has also extended support to the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of employees’ unions. The strike follows many rounds of protests over pending service-related and financial demands, including the release of 18 percent of pending dearness allowance (DA) arrears.
