Asian Games 2026: India bags first sailing silver medal taking overall tally to 63, including 10 gold

Nagoya [Japan]: Indian compound archer Ganesh Mani Ratnam Thirumuru produced a commanding performance to win the men’s individual bronze medal at the Asian Games here today. Ganesh, who was a part of the gold-winning men’s team yesterday, defeated Vietnam’s Cong Duc Dang 149-144 in the bronze medal playoff after bowing out of individual gold contention with a semifinal loss.

In squash, India settled for a bronze medal after losing 1-2 to Hong Kong in the women’s team semifinal. Meanwhile, in sepaktakraw, India assured itself of at least a bronze medal after defeating Vietnam 2-nil in the men’s quadrant event to advance to the semifinals.

India were assured of a medal in the Asian Games sepaktakraw men’s quadrant competition after the team entered the semifinals with a 2-1 win over Myanmar, keeping an unbeaten run intact to top group A today.

India also opened its sailing medal account at the Asian Games as Manu Francis and Prince Kurisinkal Noble secured silver in the men’s skiff competition today, finishing behind China after nine races.

Meanwhile, in Men’s cricket, India trounced Sri Lanka by 124 runs to set up a high-voltage final against Pakistan.
