PM Modi highlights India’s growing global influence, investment appeal and international engagement
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday underscored India’s growing role on the global stage, stating that the world is engaging with and investing in India with renewed confidence, driven by the aspirations and achievements of the country’s 140 crore citizens.
Sharing MyGovIndia’s thread on X under the campaign “12 Years of India First”, the Prime Minister said, “India is always ready to do whatever is possible to contribute towards a better planet. At the same time, thanks to the 140 crore people of India, the world looks at India with hope and enthusiasm. That is also why the world is engaging with India and investing in India.”
The remarks came as part of a broader reflection on India’s transformation in global affairs over the past twelve years, highlighting the country’s expanding diplomatic reach, economic partnerships, technological leadership, and growing influence in international decision-making.
India’s Rising Global Profile
According to MyGovIndia, India’s engagement with the international community has entered a more impactful phase since 2014, marked by stronger partnerships, increased global trust, and a more prominent role in shaping international conversations.
MyGovIndia highlighted India’s emergence as a key player in global commerce through landmark trade agreements that have strengthened economic ties and expanded opportunities for businesses and investors.
India’s growing stature has also been reflected in its ability to host major international events. The country has successfully hosted the G20 Summit, the Chess Olympiad, an International Olympic Committee (IOC) session, the World Heritage Committee session, and is set to host the AI Impact Summit in 2026, reinforcing its position as a global hub for dialogue, innovation, and cooperation.
Stronger Security Posture
The thread also pointed to India’s evolving security doctrine, citing Operation Sindoor, which targeted nine terror sites, and policy measures such as the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty as examples of a more proactive approach to national security.
According to MyGovIndia, these actions reflect a clear emphasis on strategic clarity, deterrence, and the protection of India’s sovereignty and security interests.
Trusted Global Partner in Times of Crisis
India’s role in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief was highlighted as another pillar of its international engagement. Through medical aid, emergency assistance, and relief operations across multiple regions, India has strengthened its image as a dependable and compassionate global partner.
MyGovIndia noted that India’s response to global crises has reinforced its reputation for resilience, solidarity, and commitment to collective well-being.
Expanding Diplomatic Reach
MyGovIndia also highlighted the recognition India has received internationally, noting that Indian leadership has been honoured by numerous countries across six continents. These recognitions, it said, reflect growing diplomatic trust and stronger bilateral relationships.
India’s voice has also gained greater prominence in leading parliamentary chambers and international forums, signalling increasing recognition of the country’s role in shaping discussions on global governance and cooperation.
A renewed focus on diplomatic outreach has helped India revive engagement with several countries after long gaps, while the expansion of Indian embassies, consulates, and diplomatic missions has strengthened the country’s global presence and outreach capabilities.
Technology and Global South Leadership
India’s rapidly growing technology ecosystem was cited as another key contributor to its global influence. Digital public infrastructure and technology solutions developed in India are increasingly being adopted by other nations, enhancing the country’s reputation as an innovation leader.
MyGovIndia also emphasised India’s role as a strong advocate for the Global South through platforms such as BRICS and the G20. India has consistently pushed for more inclusive global governance, greater cooperation among developing nations, and a stronger voice for emerging economies in international decision-making.
A Vision of Global Partnership
MyGovIndia said India’s growing international engagement reflects a broader transformation in its foreign policy, characterised by stronger partnerships, increased credibility, and active participation in addressing global challenges.
As India continues to strengthen its economic, diplomatic, technological, and strategic capabilities, the country is increasingly being viewed as a trusted partner and a key driver of global growth and cooperation.
