Putin: The Russian President to visit India on December 4 and 5

New Delhi: India on Friday said Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit next week will give both countries an opportunity to review progress in their bilateral relations.
Putin will be in India on December 4-5 at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ministry of External Affairs said.
It will be his first trip to India since 2021.
Some key agreements across different sectors are likely to be discussed or signed, the media reported.
“The forthcoming state visit will provide an opportunity for the leadership of India and Russia to … set the vision for strengthening the ‘special and privileged strategic partnership’ and exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest,” it said in a statement.
He is visiting India against the backdrop of continued war between Ukraine and Russia, and fresh attempts being made for a ceasefire.
During the visit, President Putin will lead the Russian delegation in the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit.
