Security Threat to Ambanis, Reliance Hospital

NEW DELHI, Oct 5: The security coverage of industrialist Mukesh Ambani and his family members and that of the Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai were strengthened after two threat calls from some unidentified callers were received on Wednesday.

Official sources said the Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai received two threat calls within five hours on Wednesday. The caller threatened to blow up the hospital. Threats were also issued against some members of the Ambani family.

The unidentified caller, who had called this afternoon at HN Reliance Hospital threatening to blow up the hospital and to kill Industrialist Mukesh Ambani, his wife Nita Ambani and their sons, Akash and Anant, is suspected to have called the hospital again in the evening as well.

The first threat call was received at 12:57 pm while the second call is said to have been received at 5:04 pm..

A Reliance Industries Limited spokesperson said, “At 12.57 pm today and again at 5.04 pm October 5th, a call was received at the call centre of Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital threatening to blow up the hospital and threatening to take the lives of Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani, Akash Ambani and Anant Ambani. The caller also threatened to blow up Antilia and gave multiple threats to members of the Ambani family.”

The statement further reads, “A police complaint has been registered and we are providing all the necessary details to the police in their investigations.” The Mumbai Police has put up special teams to trace the caller who had called from a mobile number and are trying to apprehend him, the police said.
