Tremblors jolt Chhattisgarh and Manipur

New Delhi: Two earthquakes struck India and jolted Chhattisgarh and Manipur states during morning hours of Monday, July 11, 2022. The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) shared seismographs on Twitter, highlighting the affected areas.

The NCS reported of a 3.5 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale that occurred in Manipur on Monday, July 11, 2022, around 10 am and with a depth of 10 km.

“Earthquake of magnitude 3.5 occurred on July 11, 2022, at 10:06 am IST on latitude 24.80 and longitude 94.43 with a depth of 10 km, location Kamjong, Manipur, India,” the NCS tweeted.

Earlier on Monday, a 4.3 magnitude tremblor on the Richter scale jolted the Ambikapur district of Chhattisgarh. According to the NCS, the tremblor was experienced around 08 am and the epicentre is located around 80km West-Northwest of the Ambikapur district.

“Earthquake of magnitude 4.3 occurred on July 11, 2022, at 08:10 am IST on latitude 23.36 and longitude 82.44 with a depth of 10 km located 79km WNW of Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, India,” the NCS said.

No reports of damages or casualties surfaced so far.
