IMD Predicts Heavy Rains in Several States
New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) took to Twitter on Tuesday, July 05, 2022, and predicted the possibility of heavy rainfall in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan during the next 24 hours.
“Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall and thunderstorm and lightning very likely over Gujarat State, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Telangana, Coastal and South Interior Karnataka, Kerala, and Mahe during next 5 days,” the IMD tweeted.
“Isolated extremely heavy rainfall also likely over south Gujarat Region and ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra on July 8 and over Konkan and Goa on July 7 and July 8, 2022,” the IMD wrote.
According to the department, monsoons officially reached every corner of the country on July 02, 2022.
“Isolated rainfall activity very likely over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh-Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan during next 24 hours and scattered to widespread rainfall activity with isolated thunderstorm/lightning likely over the region during July 5 to July 8, 2022,” the IMD said.
Meanwhile, IMD also predicted the possibility of heavy rainfall in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Chandigarh on July 7 and July 8, 2022, in Uttar Pradesh on July 06, East Rajasthan from July 4 to 8, and West Rajasthan during July 5 to July 8, 2022.
“Isolated heavy rainfall over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh-Delhi on July 7 and 8; West Uttar Pradesh on July 6; East Rajasthan during July 4-8, and West Rajasthan during July 5-8. Isolated very heavy rainfall over West Rajasthan on 06th and over East Rajasthan during 06th-08th July,” the department added.
