Mumbai: The middle-eastern country of Qatar became the second country after Kuwait to ban the upcoming Thalapathy Vijay film, Beast. The film will release on April 14, 2022.

The two Islamist nations have banned the film due to portrayal of Muslims in the feature. Besides, an Islamist group in Tamil Nadu is also demanding a ban due to a negative depiction of Muslims in Vijay’s film.

The makers released the trailer of Beast on Saturday, April 02, 2022. The trailer shows Vijay as a notorious spy, Veera Raghavan, who fights terrorists and saves people stuck at Chennai’s East Coast Mall from hijackers. The trailer describes him as mean, lean, and powerful as he wields the gun and kills with a sword. The trailer also shows a glimpse of actor Pooja Hegde who seems visibly afraid of Vijay’s character.

Written and directed by Nelson Dilpkumar and produced by Sun Pictures with music composer Anirudh Ravichander, the action-thriller also stars Selva Raghavan, Yogi Babu, Shine Chacko, Redin Kingsley, Aparna Das, and VTV Ganesh in pivotal roles.
