New Delhi: Australian actor Chris Hemsworth wrapped the production of his most anticipated Hollywood venture, Extraction 2.
The actor will reprise his role of Tyler Rake in the sequel to the 2020 film after hinting at his character being alive towards the end of the prequel.
The 38-year-old shared the news through his social media handle. Posting a video on Instagram, Hemsworth wrote, “That’s a wrap! Another Extraction film down. Shaping up to be an epic franchise, which has only been possible with the blood, sweat, tears, and passion of our amazing cast and crew.”
“Massive thanks to everyone who’s been with us through this journey, and cheers to many more. Much love, team. Can’t wait for you all to see this one,” he added.
Sam Hargrave directed the sequel with Joe and Anthony Russo returning as Producers. Extraction made its debut on Netflix in April 2020 and received appreciation from critics and viewers alike.
Set in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Extraction revolved around Rake, a black-ops mercenary whose task is to rescue the kidnapped son of an Indian Druglord.
The film was shot extensively across India and Thailand and featured Randeep Hooda, Priyanshu Painyuli, and Rudraksh Jaiswal alongside Hemsworth.
