ISSF World Cup 2022: Shri Nivetha, Esha Singh, Ruchita Vinerkar clinch Gold for India
New Delhi: Indian female shooters Nivetha, Esha Singh, and Ruchita Vinerkar clinched a combined gold medal in the women’s 10m Air Pistol group event of the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) in Cairo, Egypt.
The trio shot 16 points in the gold medal event and bagged a third medal and second gold for India. The Indian shooters topped the qualification round two with a total of 574 points to enter the gold medal match.
Meanwhile, the German team of Andrea Katharina Heckner, Sandra Reitz, and Carina Wimmer scored 571 points and secured second place.
Meanwhile, the Indian team comprising Shreya Agarwal, Ayushi Gupta, and Rajshree Sancheti finished seventh in the qualification round 2 of the women’s 10m air rifle team event with 625 points.
Nearly 500 shooters from 60 nations are participating in the Cairo World Cup 2022, out of which 17 nations have won medals so far and nine countries, including India, have won gold medals.
So far, India is the first country to grab two gold medals in ISSF World Cup 2022.
