Covid-19: India reports 8865 new cases, lowest in 287 days
New Delhi: The Health Ministry on Tuesday informed that 8,865 new Covid-19 cases have been reported in the nation in the last 24 hours. Rate of infection in the country is the lowest in the last 287 days.
The Union Health Ministry data further said that the active cases settled at 130,793 the lowest in 525 days, as the country’s tally of COVID-19 infections stands at 34,456,401.
The daily rise in new coronavirus infections has been below 20,000 for 39 straight days and less than 50,000 daily new cases have been reported for 142 consecutive days now.
Ministry further added that the active cases comprise 0.38 per cent of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.27 per cent, the highest since March 2020.
Notably, the country has so far conducted over 62.57 crore total tests, while 112.97 corer vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
