Sherni: Vidya Balan’s strong performance on Amazon Prime video
Mumbai: Actor Vidya Balan, who won accolades for her strong performance in Kahaani, has done it again.
Her portrayal as a ‘tigress’ in Amazon Prime’s new release, Sherni, has won her many hearts. The audience was already waiting for the release after watching the trailer of the new film.
The title of the film is synonymous with Vidya Balan’s lead role, based on the script penned by Aastha Tiku. Other actors have also performed exceptionally well.
Sherni is an example of how to deliver a good story. It showcases the existence of red tape intertwined with sexist comments in the workplace.
It is the story of a new Divisional Forest Officer DFO) sent to a forested area of Madhya Pradesh where a tigress keeps the villagers on tenterhooks.
The new DFO is thus challenged with the dual task of saving the tigress as well as the villagers. In this battle of man versus jungle, she is also seen battling the orthodoxy and emerges as a ‘tigress’ herself.
Director Amit Masurkar has tightly woven the complex story set in the backdrop of a beautiful forest.
Aastha Tikku has detailed the screenplay quite well. Cinematography has also captured natural beauty.
