New Delhi: The Vigilance Awareness Week is being observed across the country from today till 1st of Next month, to promote probity in public life and achieve a corruption-free society. It is observed to create greater sensitivity about the need for ethics and transparency in governance and public administration. This year, Vigilance Awareness Week is celebrated under the theme, सत्यनिष्ठा से समृद्धि – Probity for Prosperity. The observance of the week will commence with pledge taking by public servants in the Ministries, Departments, PSUs, Banks and all other Organisations. The Vigilance Awareness Week is observed every year during the week in which the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel falls. The observation aims to spread awareness among all citizens and stakeholders regarding the adverse effects of corruption and the need to uphold integrity and probity.
