UN warning: Global temperature likely to rise by 1.5C by 2027
New Delhi, May 18: A report has been published by the United Nations and the World Meteorological Organisation, and according to the available data and records, it has shown the possibility of increasing the temperature in the next five years.
This report is being considered as a warning by the United Nations. The World Meteorological Department of the United Nations has said that due to the combined effect of El Nio and greenhouse gases, the temperature will increase. According to the World Meteorological Department, the global temperature is likely to increase by 1.5 degrees Celsius by the year 2027. So it is predicted that the years 2023–2027 are likely to set a new record for the hottest in the next five years.
According to WMO Secretary-General Professor Petri Talas, “This report does not mean that we will permanently exceed the 1.5 Celsius level specified in the Paris Agreement, which refers to long-term warming over many years. However, WMO is sounding the alarm that we will breach the 1.5 Celsius level on a temporary basis with increasing frequency.”
As the temperature increases day by day, besides the ozone layer in the earth’s atmosphere, which prevents the sun’s harmful rays from reaching the earth, there are speculations that there are holes in this layer due to the increase in the amount of heat in the atmosphere. If the amount of heat in the atmosphere continues to increase, the hole in the ozone layer is likely to get bigger, which can create a dire situation.
