Tremblor: A 4.1 magnitude earthquake strikes Rajasthan
New Delhi: A mild earthquake measuring a magnitude intensity of 4.1 on the Richter scale the Bikaner district of Rajasthan and adjoining areas on Monday, August 22, 2022.
The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) shared a seismograph on Twitter, highlighting the affected areas. According to the NCS, the epicentre formed around 236 km North-west of the Bikaner district in Rajasthan.
Informing about the tremblor, the NCS tweeted, “Earthquake of magnitude 4.1 occurred on August 22, 2022, at 02:01 IST on latitude 29.38 and longitude 71.45 with a depth of 236km NW of Bikaner, Rajasthan, India.”
No reports of casualties and damages have surfaced so far. This is the second tremblor in Rajasthan after a 3.7 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale had struck the Jaipur district of Rajasthan on June 29, 2022.
“Earthquake of magnitude 3.7 occurred on June 29, 2022, at 09:59 IST on latitude 26.44 and longitude 76.40 with a depth of 10 km located 80 km Southeast (SE) of Jaipur, Rajasthan, India,” the NCS had tweeted.
