Tremblor: A 3.4 magnitude jolts Maharashtra
New Delhi: A mild earthquake measuring a magnitude intensity of 3.4 jolted the Kolhapur and adjoining districts of Maharashtra on Thursday, August 25, 2022.
The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) took to Twitter and shared a seismograph, highlighting the affected areas.
“Earthquake of magnitude 3.4 occurred on August 25, 2022 at 12:05 IST on latitude 16.80 and longitude 75.85 with a depth of 5km located 17 km East of Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India,” the NCS tweeted.
However, no reports of damages or casualties surfaced so far. The tremblor was experienced in the region after a 4.6 magnitude earthquake struck Kolhapur on July 09, 2022.
The NCS informed regarding the earthquake and wrote, “Earthquake of magnitude 4.6 occurred on July 09, 2022, 6:24 am IST on latitude 17.05 and longitude 75.65 with a depth of 10km located 154 km ENE of Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India.”
