The US reports one million fresh covid-19 cases in a Single-Day
New Delhi: The US has reported more than one million cases of covid-19 in the last 24 hours – which is the highest cases in a single day so far. The country has registered more than 3.4 million cases in the past few days.
According to the latest update from the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, the Omicron strain accounted for 95% of new COVID-19 infections last week. Officials had earlier said that the mutated variant accounted for around 59% of national US cases in the week ending December 25.
However, New cases of Covid-19 are increasing in India, the UK, and France also. France is recording an average of 1.5 lakh new cases of covid per day from the last few days, while the UK is reporting 1.25 lakh new cases on an average.
The United Kingdom government on Tuesday informed that more than 200000 cases of covid-19 are recorded in the last 24 hours. The highly transmissible Omicron strain surges through the country. It said it had logged 218,724 infections — the highest daily total since the pandemic began.
Health experts have predicted that the omicron variant could be more dangerous for all the countries in the future.
