NEW DELHI, May 21: For the first time in Ahmedabad, the Sardar Vallabhbhai Global University in Ahmedabad is launching a new two-year MBA programme specially designed for the working professionals and full-time Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programme in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Computer Engineering (CE), Computer Science and Technology (CST) and Computer Science and Engineering (AI and ML).

According to the University pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Kiran Shah, all the B.Tech programmes are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the SGVU is the only educational institution in Ahmedabad to offer AICTE-approved courses in B.Tech.

He said the MBA programme has been designed to provide flexible, industry-relevant education that accommodates busy work schedules of the working professionals without compromising on the academic rigor. Recent reports from global consultancies have highlighted the growing demand for leadership within the Indian industries.

Organization, he said, were facing challenges in recruiting and retaining qualified leaders and this deficit, which result in strategic inertia, delayed decision-making and missed opportunities, would be fulfilled by the SGVU’s two-year MBA programme for working professionals. The candidates for the admissions would need to have a minimum qualification of graduation and at least one year of working experience.

The B.Tech curriculums, Dr Shah said, had been carefully structured to include a strong foundation in theory, hands-on laboratory experience and exposures to cutting-edge technologies. The industry-aligned curriculum would cover software development, data structures, cloud computing, quantum computing and many more.

He said the SGVU has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the American Academy of Financial Management (AFM), India, to jointly launch a certificate course in “Wealth Management” to cater to the needs for professionals in personal finances, investment strategies and financial advisory services. It was because Ahmedabad was also emerging as a hub for young investors and professionals were increasingly seeking expert financial advice, creating a strong demand for certified professionals.

He said the course would be ideal for the BBA students and anyone interested in a career in finance. It would cover essential topics such as financial planning, investment strategies, tax management and client handling and would enhance employability and open new job opportunities in the financial services sector.
