Rainfall: IMD issues advisory for Delhi-NCR region
New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued advisory for the Delhi-NCR region on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, as a result of heavy rainfall in most parts that lead to water-logging and destruction to public property.
“Impact expected and action suggested due to rain over Delhi-NCR and adjoining areas: Water logging in low lying areas. Occasional reduction in visibility. Disruption of traffic in roads leading to increased travel time. Minor damage to kutcha roads. Possibilities of damage to vulnerable structure and Damage to horticulture and standing crops in some areas,” the IMD wrote.
The department further wrote, “Action suggested: Check for traffic congestion on your route before leaving for your destination. Follow any traffic advisories that are issued in this regard. Avoid going to areas that face the water logging problems often and Avoid staying in vulnerable structure.”
“Thundershower with moderate to heavy intensity rain with very heavy intensity rain over isolated places and gusty winds with speed of 30-50 Km/h would occur over and adjoining areas of entire Delhi and NCR (Loni Dehat, Hindon AF Station, Bahadurgarh, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Chhapraula, Noida, Dadri, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, Manesar, Ballabhgarh) during the next two hours,” the IMD had predicted.
